I am sure most people throughout the course of their lives change careers many times. Remember the good old days where you just followed in your father's, grandfather's, great grandfather's etc footsteps? In my case that would have made me either a farmer, an architect or a City streets department foreman. OK, so maybe those weren't the good old days.
Nevertheless, I find myself in desperate need of a career change. I currently own a company I HATE!!!! I don't like what I do and I don't like where I am headed so I am making a change! One that surly will frustrate me at first (because I haven't been back to school in 15 years) and will need to go back for training. I have to make this change because I am the only one supporting my family of 3. It's scary and exciting all at the same time. At this point, I am just plain scared!!!
Wish me luck! I am getting my books today and training starts next week. I need to make this change....I just hope I made it in time.

Out of the Mouth of Babes
Driving in town has become a dangerous expedition. Yesterday while finishing up my Christmas shopping I had 6 close calls (can you tell I live in a small town? ha!) none of which were my fault. My son, who is 12, told me the other day that it doesn't seem like Christmas to him. When I asked him why, he said that everybody was rude and unhappy. It's true! Even the bell ringers look unhappy. I told him that it is just because people don't have enough time to get all of the things done that they need to before Christmas. To which he replied "Well, they need to manage their time better so they can get everything done in time for Christmas." Of course he is right ..... oh wait! Does this mean that he is really listening to me when I tell him that he needs to manage his homework time better in order to meet his deadlines? I do believe that I have received my first Christmas gift this year. My son has listened!!!!!!

Growth
Do we ever stop growing? The saying "When I grow up...." still haunts me today. When I was a child I wanted to be an attorney ... but I am not. When I was a child 30 was old .... now that I am in my 30's it is not! I am still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I don't want to be known as somebodies daughter, wife, mother .... I want to be known as ME ... I just have to find out who "me" is.
